THE BLUE MONDAYS (LUNDIS BLEUS) AND “LUNDIS-BLEUS”

Lundis Bleus (that’s Blue Mondays to you) was what today could be considered a lifestyle choice.

Dating all the way back to the 16th century, it was what might best be described as the freedom of freelancing. The concept being that the best paid, most highly skilled workers would simply opt not to go to work on Mondays. This would occasionally extend to Tuesdays, and very rarely spill into Wednesdays.

It underscores our commitment as an independent brand, free to set our own course, and follow our own path. Our logo (a graphic interpretation of an alcohol molecule), speaks to our open approach to what we do, as well as the passion we felt as student watchmakers, that has blos- somed into our brand.

From the beginning, the intention has never been to create a brand just for the sake of creating a brand. Rather, both friends knew that there was a real demand for independent watchmaking, but at an attainable price. The idea that a Lundis Bleus owner would be able to draw a direct line from their watch to the person who brought it to life. Beyond that, both Johan and Bastien wanted an honest, transparent process. No special code names for the movements used, no paid “friends of the brand”, no outlandish creation myths, but simply high-quality watches with a soul.
